Gradually being replaced in some roles by newer aircraft.

The Air Force’s HH-60G and HH-60W rescue helicopters are Sikorsky Black Hawk-family aircraft adapted for combat rescue.

Manufacturer: Sikorsky, now part of Lockheed Martin.
Air Force variants add rescue, communications, survivability, fuel, and mission equipment.
Used for personnel recovery, medevac support, disaster response, and combat search-and-rescue.

CH-47 Chinook / HH-47 Rescue Proposal

The Chinook is primarily a U.S. Army aircraft, but it is included here because the Air Force once selected an HH-47 rescue variant before that program was canceled.

Known for tandem rotors, large cargo capacity, and heavy external-lift capability.
The USAF Combat Search and Rescue replacement path ultimately moved to HH-60W instead of fielding HH-47.
