Each text-file line becomes one punched card. Lines shorter than 80 characters are padded with blanks. Lines longer than 80 characters are truncated at column 80.

Operation

Letters and digits use a simplified IBM/Hollerith-style 12-row representation. A–I use zone 12, J–R use zone 11, and S–Z use zone 0. Digits punch their corresponding numeric row. Spaces advance without punching. Printed characters are centered directly over their corresponding punch columns.
Insert a blank card to begin.
